How to sort out electronic or paper legacy records

Legacy records are ‘old’ records with no apparent organisation.

These records might be

  • paper records found in a disused filing space
  • electronic records on a shared drive you have inherited when you take on a new role

 You need to establish which records the University needs to keep, and which have reached the end of their useful life.
